Class
Descriptions
01
Foundation
AGE: Over 3 months
Prerequisite: none
This is an introductory class for dogs new to agility. The focus is on building engagement, drive and motivation in distracting environments through positive reinforcement strategies. Dogs will “learn how to learn” through body awareness and other exercises that will set them for success in their agility career. This class is appropriate for new agility teams and dogs three months and up. Typically, I try to group puppies 12 months and younger into a Puppy Foundation class.
02
Young Dog Skills
AGE: Roughly 8 - 14 months
Prerequisite: Puppy Foundation or Instructor Approval
This class introduces the concept of working through sequences and various drills. There will be a heavy focus on building understanding and skill regarding handling concepts and choices. This class is appropriate for dogs that are familiar with jumps and tunnels, working on the teeter, but are too young to work on weaves or more than short sequences. This class content changes with the age of the dogs in class.
